Organizations
An organization is the top-level container in Where Is Tereza?. Every trip, every GPS point, every photo, every subscriber lives inside one. You sign up → you create an org → you invite teammates → you go.
Why orgs
Plenty of users have one org and never think about it again. But the model unlocks:
- Multi-traveller setups. A family on a multi-month round-the- world: one org, multiple devices feeding GPS, one shared map.
- Tour operators. Each guided trip = one org. Customers get the public link; staff get team access; billing is per-org.
- Privacy boundary. Two unrelated trip series (your personal Camino + your partner's solo bike tour) can be totally separate orgs under one account, no cross-leaks.
Creating an org
After sign-up, the onboarding wizard asks for:
- Name. "The Hornych Family Year", "Tereza Camino 2026", whatever. Shows up in the page title and on share previews.
- Slug. Short URL identifier, lowercase letters/numbers/dashes.
Becomes part of every public link:
app.whereistereza.com/o/{slug}. Hard to change later — pick something durable. - Timezone. Used for trip start/end auto-trigger times and for daily stats day boundaries.
You can have multiple orgs from one user account. The org picker appears at sign-in if you have more than one membership.
Roles
Each membership is owner, admin, or viewer:
| Role | Can change billing | Can edit trips | Can read everything |
|---|---|---|---|
| Owner | yes | yes | yes |
| Admin | no | yes | yes |
| Viewer | no | no | yes |
The user who created the org is the owner. They can promote others. There's exactly one owner per org; ownership transfer is explicit.
Plan limits
Team members per org:
| Plan | Members |
|---|---|
| Light | 1 (just you) |
| Traveler | 2 |
| Nomad | 3 |

Custom subdomain & domain
Every org gets app.whereistereza.com/o/{slug} automatically. For Nomad
plan orgs, you can also point your own domain at us — see
Custom domain setup.
Switching orgs
If you're a member of multiple orgs, the avatar menu at top-right of the admin shows "Switch org" with the full list. The sign-in flow also picks for you when there's more than one membership.
Deleting an org
Settings → Danger zone → Delete organization. You'll need to type the org slug to confirm. Deletion is immediate and removes all GPS data, trips, photos, subscribers, members. Backups are purged within 30 days; after that, recovery is impossible.
