OsmAnd
OsmAnd is a popular offline-maps navigation app on iOS and Android. If you already use OsmAnd for trail navigation, the Trip Recording plugin can publish to Where Is Tereza? — no separate tracker app needed.
Enable the plugin
OsmAnd → Menu → Plugins → enable Trip Recording.
Configure online tracking
Trip Recording → Online tracking → Settings:
- Web address: paste your per-org URL from the admin GPS sources page.
- Send interval: 30–60 seconds is reasonable.
- Minimum distance: 10–20 m to avoid jitter spam.
- Minimum accuracy: 30 m.
Toggle Online tracking on, then start a trip recording from the Trip Recording panel.
Battery
OsmAnd's tracking is reasonably efficient. Expect 8–12% drain per day at 60-second intervals.
Notes
- OsmAnd doesn't buffer points if the network is down — they'll be lost. For trips going off-grid, run OwnTracks in parallel as a buffered fallback.
- The trip recording can also export GPX locally; the live publishing is independent.
