Where Is Tereza? quietly watches what you do — distance, elevation,
streaks, weather, photography, and a few hidden flourishes — and
hands out badges when you hit milestones. They show up as a 🏆
counter on your About Me card on the public map; click it to see
what you've earned and what's still in progress.
Why? Travel is mostly about the journey, not the leaderboard.
But a small "you just hit 1,000 km" nod feels good. Badges are
kept lightweight: never spammy, never gated behind a paywall,
never shared with anyone else unless your map is public.
How earning works
Computed automatically. Every time data changes — a fresh GPS
point arrives, a trip is saved, a photo is uploaded, the road snap
runs — the badge engine re-evaluates the catalog and unlocks
anything new. No "claim" button.
Some badges are repeatable. Trip-scoped milestones (Century
Club, Beast Mode, Hill Climber, …) re-fire on every qualifying
trip and show a ×N count. Lifetime badges (1,000 km, Octomover,
100-day streak) unlock once.
Difficulty tiers. Each badge is tagged Easy / Medium / Hard /
Legendary so you can see at a glance what's a quick win versus
what'll take a year of walking.
Toast on unlock. New badges fire a small notification in admin
the next time you open the page after the unlock fired.
Forced recompute. Admin → Achievements → "Recompute now" if
you want to re-evaluate after restoring data, importing a trip,
or just for peace of mind.
The catalog
52 badges across 11 categories. Repeatable badges show how many
times you've earned them.

Where badges show up
Public trip page → About Me card shows a 🏆 N counter when
any badge has been earned. Click it to open the trophy case
modal with all unlocked badges grouped by category.
Org admin → Achievements sidebar item: full grid showing
earned (gold), in-progress (with completion bar — e.g.
620 / 1,000 km), and locked (greyed) badges. The progress bar
picks the lifetime badge whose target you're closest to.
Toast notification the moment a new badge unlocks — you get
a small popup the next time you load admin.
Privacy
Badges are computed entirely from data you already have on your
account. Nothing is reported anywhere external, no anonymous
analytics, no leaderboard across orgs. The trophy case is visible
on your public trip page only if your trip is public — same
privacy rules as the rest of the trip.
If you'd rather hide the 🏆 counter from your public profile, the
plan is to ship a Settings → Privacy → "Hide achievements
publicly" toggle. Reach out via Support if you need it sooner.
